Sports Training

A different type of goal.

Any trainer can write you a programme to help you with sports based goals. However training with someone who lives and breathes sports themselves and has first hand experience with what it takes is something else. Better training, better advice, better results.

A personal training qualification is one thing but it really can only get you so far in the sports training world. Here are some of the areas where I can give you additional expert guidance based on my own involvement and competing.

Running

I have completed a British Athletics ‘Leadership in Running Fitness’ course to give me a greater understanding on how to train, help and coach others in their running specific goals. I have spent many hours and more miles than I can think of running! I have great experience in training for and participation in running events, completing distances from 5k park runs to 40 miles in a day. I can talk you through all the little details; the clothing to wear, food to eat, what to drink and consume on the move, specific stretching, relevant strength and endurance training, and of course, correct running form and how best to run.

Cycling

I can talk you through and help you with the full works. I worked for over 10 years in this industry and have raced, toured, completed charity rides and conquered sportives. So whether it’s cycling a London to Brighton, a long-haul tour, or climbing the ranks in your local league, I can help you out. I have fantastic depth of knowledge with cycling clothing, shoes, and bike set up too, so can help you with those finer tuning bits as well.

OCR’s, Tough Mudders, mud runs etc.

When I did my first Tough Mudder I didn’t know what to expect and felt intimidated. I am so glad I did it – it was a fantastic experience and opened a new world for me in terms of training and challenging myself

Tough Mudder? Spartan Race? Rat Race? Never fear! I can prepare you to expect the unexpected! This newer breed of sport is often the most intimidating for people to try out, and the hardest to know how to train for it. I have finishing first place in Wolf Runs, won my waves in Spartan races, qualified for World’s Toughest Mudder, and most impressively, trained clients who went from ‘I’d like to give it a go’ to finishing first place themselves and heading to world championships. I couldn’t be more proud!

I frequently like to climb and play tennis too and have trained several people in both of these areas, with good results. In 2019 I trained a long time tennis coach to help him strengthen his body, mobilise the joints and reduce his fatigue and injury rate. A few months later he won the London senior tennis league for the first time ever.
