Still need more convincing?

I completely understand. Personal training can be a big decision. Let me try and help.

For some people it can be the price and trying to justify it. For others it can be nerves of not feeling confident or ‘fit enough to use a trainer’. Maybe you wonder if you will learn anything useful at all. Let me take you through some more on what I can offer you, as well as common questions and answers.

A little more on what you get with me
  • A FREE consultation. Yep, no strings attached. Consultation’s are vital to help me gather the right information about you, but also give you the opportunity to chat with me and get a feeling for how we can work together. You should never use a PT who you don’t ‘click’ with or get on with – sessions will not be interesting, flow nicely and you will likely not enjoy them.
  • Workout plans. Every client who works with me gets a unique tailored workout plan, written up by me, based off of our consultation. I will email this to you in a PDF based format so you can use it easily when not with me. Each new plan or slight amendment means a new copy emailed to you, keeping you completely up – to – date.
  • Nutritional advice. Personal training/ health & fitness is not just about what we do in the gym. Your diet is essential to good results too. I can give you professional nutritional advice to help you stay on track and meet your goals, as well as sport specific diet information for events preparation and consumption during endurance events.
  • Flexibility. Training shouldn’t feel a rigid structure, nor should you get the same set up as everyone else. People have different lives and different set ups. I will try and adapt my programming and your training to meet your requirements. Want to simply get a sweat on, no questions asked? I can do that. Want to learn about everything we’re doing? Need full on events prep and planning? Not a problem.
  • Quality confirmed. I picked one of the best fitness educating boards to train me when I started my PT journey. It was a 5 days a week course, 9-5, 3 months long. I scored top marks in my tests. These days you can pay for courses which are 1 week long and somehow get you the same level of qualification. The difference in a trainer who paid to get the best and paid to get there fastest is vast. Rest assured, training with me means training with the best in the industry.
  • Not just the how but the why. I am not about barking commands or just showing you how to do something. That’s only half the job. With everything we do I will always tell you why we do it, so you can learn more effectively along the way.
  • No gym? No problem! I can train you at home, the office or outside, and am fully insured to do so.
  • Don’t want to do it alone? 2 person training is also available. Just ask!

Hopefully this has given you more peace of mind on my training. Here are some commonly asked questions and my commonly given answers.

Frequently asked questions

Q. Do I really need a Personal Trainer?

A. Honestly everyone should use a Personal Trainer at some point. If you are completely new to exercise, this is the time. Don’t pick up any bad self-taught habits or read any bad ‘advice’ off a clickbait website. Start right and continue this way; it will make your journey more effective and thus easier. If you are experienced with training but need that next step up, again my training will give you what you need without question.

Q. Can’t I just teach myself?

A. Yes, but rarely do people do things completely right without guidance and do things as effectively. Personal trainers should be considered private tutors – whether you are learning a new language, how to play an instrument or learning about fitness, having someone one on one to help guide you is much more effective. I can teach you the right things but also point out any wrong things you may be doing – something a book, website or app cannot help you with.

Q. Can I afford it?

A. I will give you invaluable training advice and help so yes! Training with me isn’t a lifelong commitment – unless of course you want it to be! Just a few sessions and thus a small financial investment can make a huge difference for your health and fitness for the rest of your life. Driving lessons are unquestionably important to helping you drive – no one would ever suggest you just figure out how to do it! I believe the same should be for fitness – sessions to help you do it properly and safely are vital.

Q. I feel embarrassed to workout. Can you help?

A. Yes! This is a common problem with new comers and can be addressed with 2 things to bear in mind. Firstly, NO ONE will watch you other than me, and if anything people tend to observe personal trainers in a gym and not their clients. People don’t watch other people workout in the gym! You may look around the room and glance at a person from time to time but it’s for a second tops. Do not worry about others watching. Secondly, as you feel more confident in what you are doing those feelings will go, believe me. Think of your first day in a new job against 3 months later. Settled in and confident.

Q. I feel very unfit. I think I will workout for a few weeks first to build my fitness and then see you. Is this OK?

A. This is something that I hear quite often. In a word, yes, you can of course do this if that is what you want to do. Do I recommend it? No. As mentioned previously, it is like driving that car or learning that instrument without help and getting some later on. By this time you may have picked up some bad habits which need correcting/ reversing, which slows things down. Also if you had started training with me from the beginning you would be a blank canvas, absorbing teaching and technique much better and quicker!
